Which course is right for you?

To ensure practitioners access the appropriate course for their role and level of responsibility the GSCP has mapped all courses against the training groups outlined in London Safeguarding Children Partnership’s training framework for London –“Competence Still Matters” (2013). These groups do not correspond to vocational or academic qualifications. It is the role of your manager to determine what training you should access.

Course applications

To search and apply for courses you will need to register with our online booking system on the following link: http://training.greenwichsafeguardingchildren.org.uk

The booking system has many features to save delegates time by allowing them to simply and effectively search for and book onto relevant courses, access all pre and post-course information required, including costs, trainer details, location information and any whether any other occurrences of that same course are taking place, as well as accessing your training history and downloading certificates.

If you have a question about the application process, you can also contact the GSCP business support officer by telephone on 020 8921 5713 or by email on safeguardingtraining@royalgreenwich.gov.uk.

Charging policy

This training is funded from the annual contributions made to the Safeguarding Children Partnership by its constituent agencies. All training in this brochure is free of charge to any person employed by one of the GSCP partner agencies or a not-for-profit organisation in Royal Greenwich.

There is a charge of £100 per full day or £50 per half day session for applicants from independent and private sector organisations, free schools and for all agencies outside the borough.

All participants will receive any relevant materials electronically following the course. A certificate of attendance can be downloaded from the website after completing the evaluation.

Cancellation policy

GSCP courses are normally oversubscribed and we usually have a waiting list in operation. If, for any reason, you are unable to attend a course, please let us know at least five working days before the event so that your place can be offered to someone else on the waiting list. If you cancel your place less than 2 days before the event you will receive a late cancellation fee of £80 for a full day course or £40 for a half day. You may appeal the fee if this cancellation was due to factors beyond your control, in order to do so you will need to write to safeguardingtraining@royalgreenwich.gov.uk

Failure to attend a course without prior explanation or apology will result in you or your agency receiving an invoice for a non-attendance fee, which will be equal to the cost of the course (£100 for a full day or £50 for a half day). Your non-attendance will also be reported to your line manager. This applies to ALL agencies, including partners and not-for-profits.

Delegates may provide a replacement from their own agency but they would have to register with the website in order to have a certificate and evaluation in their name. This can be done after the fact if necessary.
